Winston – 5 year old male Old Tyme Bulldog Cross

Winston is a five year old male Old Tyme Bulldog Cross who is looking for a home with Bulldog experience. He’s great with other dogs – happy walking with them and we think he could happily live with another dog but he could equally be an only dog. He came to us as a stray so we are seeking a home with children 10+ who are dog savvy. He’s a no to cats.

He’s a real character – super independent and with a boatload of attitude (as anyone who knows bulldogs will know!). He does grab the lead to play tug but we have discovered that a squirty water bottle soon stops him from doing that. He is so fed up watching all the other dogs find their forever homes while no one comes for him. He needs a loving home where he will get the opportunity to settle and where he can be himself and learn to trust.

We don’t know what happened before he came to us but think it’s likely he was kept outside as he came to us in a dreadful state. He still has some hair loss but is now putting on weight and he is enjoying his walks and the time we can spend with him but he needs a home of his own. He’s been chipped and vaccinated while with us and will be neutered as soon as we can get him into a home.

Foster homes need to be within an hour of Rotherham where we are based so that they can take the dog to our vets and be local for meets for potential adopters. Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to us in South Yorkshire. As always we require everyone in the family and any children who are regularly going to be in contact with the dog to attend the meet.

Our usual process is that you will need to come and meet the dog (outside and following social distancing rules) and that adoption is then done on a second meet. For some dogs additional meets may be required and potential adopters will be required to travel to the dogs location for all meets.

If you meet the criteria for one of our current dogs for adoption please call from 8am-8pm to discuss (if your call is not answered please leave a voicemail and we will return your call).

If you are suited we will then arrange a homecheck, vet reference and meet with the dog. We only rehome where all resident and previous animals are/were regularly vaccinated and neutered/speyed unless on veterinary advice.
