Yoshi – 1-2 year old male Maltese Cross

Yoshi is a 1-2 year old male Maltese Cross. Location Croatia. We received a report about him in August 2020. This little puppy was hit by a car and left lying on the road in unimaginable pain and shock. The driver didn’t stop.

Awfully neglected, full of fleas, internal parasites, dirt plugs and mites in the ears, stinking, matted fur. He looked like an older, tired dog that spent its life on the road. He was then 6 months old. In the vet clinic we found that he has a microchip and owners, but they did not care about him and the little one was constantly out there, on the road.

He suffered a fracture of the femur of his right leg from the impact of the vehicle. His owners did not have the money for the surgery, and I didn’t have to convince them much to give up on him and surrender him to us, so that we could help him.

We arranged with the vet clinic an emergency operation on August 12, 2020. The same day the owners signed a document for them to give up on the dog, they surrender him to us and the chip was transferred too.

And that same day, we went to another city for an arranged operation. He underwent osteosynthesis. The surgery went great.

But we weren’t allowed to bathe him for at least ten days because of the operation. Oh that stench and dirt on such a small creature.

Yoshi recovered very well, frequent check-ups and dressings followed. After six months, in February this year he went for the removal of the plates from his leg and castration.

Yoshi runs and plays, completely normal, as if nothing had happened, not limping. He is a jolly fellow, loves everything and everybody, people, cats, other dogs. He bursts with energy and needs people on the move.

He is a Maltese mixed breed, and has secretions from the corner of the eyes, which dogs of this type are prone to, whatever we tried, it was not very effective. He has woolly and demanding fur that needs to be maintained.

Yoshi is mirochipped and rabies vaccinated, castrated. Two times vaccinated for infectious diseases (last year). This year he received a booster dose.

Mediterranean diseases tested- negative.
